However, to get the precision and accuracy of your PT100 RTD, you must use an amplifier designed to read low resistance. Even better, find an amplifier that can automatically adjust and compensate for the resistance of the connected cables. We have carried a variety of MAXIM thermocouple amplifiers and we think they are great, but they don't have the best accuracy or precision when thermocouples need readings to be as good as they can be. The MAX31865 meets all your RTD needs and can even compensate for 3 or 4 wire RTDs for better accuracy. Connect with any microcontroller via SPI and read the resistance ratio from the internal ADC. At Breakout Break, we put 430 referans 0.1% resistance as reference resistance. We have some sample code that will calculate the temperature based on the resistance for you.

We've even made 3.3V regulator and level-shifting breakout 5V compatible so you can use it with any Arduino or microprocessor.

Each order comes with a combined RTD booster breakout board. There are also two 2-pole terminal blocks (for connection to the RTD sensor) and a pin header (for attaching to any breadboard or cardboard). Required PT100 RTD is not included! (But we stock them in the store). Some soldering is required to solder the headers and terminal blocks to the spotting surface, but it's an easy task for soldering tools.
