The new soil moisture sensor uses Gold plating that protects nickel from oxidation. The life of the sensor is increased with this method, which offers a much longer use than other PCB coating methods.

This soil moisture arduino sensor uses two probes to pass current through the soil and reads this resistance to obtain the moisture level. The more water the soil conducts electricity more easily (the less resistance), the weaker the dry soil electricity (the more resistance). This sensor will help you water your indoor water or monitor soil moisture in your garden.
