ACS712 Current Sensor Module

Current Sensor is an important device in power calculation and management applications. It measures the current through a device or circuit and generates an appropriate signal proportional to the measured current.

The ACS712 Current Sensor is Allegro MicroSystems product that can be used for precise measurement of AC and DC currents. This sensor is based on Hall Effect and the IC has an integrated Hall Effect device.

The output of the ACS712 Current Sensor produces an analog voltage proportional to AC or DC currents. This output depends on the choice of AC or DC. The ACS712 IC is available in an 8-pin SOIC package and the image below shows the pin diagram.
