High Dynamic Range Digital Light Sensor

This ultra-wide range of brightness sensor is so sensitive that you can even measure the light of your bright future with it.TSL2591 High Dynamic Range Digital Light SensorIt is an advanced digital brightness sensor suitable for use in a wide variety of lighting conditions.

Compared to low cost CdS cells, this sensor gives much more accurate results, allowing the lux calculations to be made in different gain / timing intervals in different lighting conditions from 1188 micro Lux to 88.000 Lux.

The best feature of this sensor is that it uses both infrared and full spectrum diodes together! In this way, it is possible to measure both infrared light and the light band visible to the human eye separately. In most sensors, this measurement is available as either one or the other. Therefore, such sensors cannot accurately measure the light visible to the human eye (because the human eye is insensitive to infrared light).

The sensor is similar to the TSL2561 but has a wider range than it and the interface code is different. The sensor has an amazing dynamic range: 600,000,000: 1. Unlike TSL2561, it is not possible to change the I2C address. Therefore, it is useful to keep this point in mind.

Since there is an ADC on the module, you can use it with any microcontroller, even if it does not have analog inputs. Its current consumption is extremely low. Current consumption is 0.4mA in detection phase and 5uA in shut-down mode.
