GP2Y1010AU0F Sharp Optical Dust Sensor

Sharp Dust SensorIt is used to detect fine particulate dust particles including cigarette smoke and to measure air pollution.

The infrared (IR) transmitter and phototransistor in the sensor measure the reflection of the emitted infrared light from the dust particles. It also detects the difference between smoke and house dust. It can be used by connecting a 220uF capacitor with a 150 ohm resistor. It works on many microcontrollers including Arduino.
