Makey How Makey Works?

Clip two objects to the Makey Makey card with alligator cable. Like you and a banana!

When you touch the banana, you establish a connection and Makey Makey sends a keyboard message to the computer. The computer just thinks Makey Makey is a normal keyboard (or mouse). Therefore, it works with all programs and web pages, because all programs and web pages receive keyboard and mouse input.

What Materials Does Makey Makey Work With?

What Can I Do with Makey Makey?

This is up to you! First, open a computer program or any web page.

Let's say you open a piano play page. Instead of using computer keyboard buttons to play the piano, you can connect Makey Makey with banana and turn bananas into keys for the piano!

How is it set up?

1) Plug in the USB cable

The small side of the USB cable can be connected to Makey Makey.

2) Close the popup

Your computer may ask you to install drivers or make other settings. You can click Cancel or close the window. You don't need to install any software.

3) Connect the ground

4) Connect one end of the ground to yourself
