IR Transceiver Module

The sensor module has a pair of transceiver tubes, adapting to ambient light. Transmitter tubes emit light at a certain frequency in the IR band, when an obstacle is in the path of the light beam, the light reflected by hitting the surface of the obstacle is read by the receiver sensor. The resulting electrical signal is processed by a comparator circuit and the green indicator light turns on, and the LOW status is read from the digital output. Sensing distance is adjusted by potentiometer. The efficient distance is 2-30cm, the operating voltage range is between 3.3V-5V. The distance at which the reading is taken can be estimated from the position of the potentiometer. With a simple interface, this device is easy to install. It is widely used for obstacle detection in robot applications. It is also used in cars that change direction when encountering an obstacle, black / white line tracking and many similar applications.

Module Specifications

• When the module encounters an obstacle, the green indicator light on the card turns on, and the LOW signal level on the output terminal turns on permanently.
• The module works at distances between 2-30cm and the detection angle is 35 °.
• The digital output of the sensor can be connected directly to microcontrollers. The output can directly drive a 5V relay; Connection type: VCC-VCC; It is in the form of GND-GND-OUT-IO.
• LM393 is used as a comparator.
• The module can be powered by a power supply that generates 3-5V DC. The red LED lights up when the power is supplied.
• Fixed mounting is easily possible thanks to 3mm mounting holes.

• Each module has a comparator operating at threshold value and the comparator voltage is adjusted by potentiometer.
