AD8232 Pulse - ECG Development Module - DIY
AD8232Is an integrated signal conditioning module for ECG and other bioelectrical measurement applications. The device is designed to extract, amplify and filter weak bioelectric signals by noise generated by motion or remote electrode placement. This design allows an ultra-low power analog-to-digital converter (ADC) or an embedded microcontroller to easily receive the output signal.
The AD8232 uses a bipolar high-pass filter to eliminate motion artifacts and electrode half cell potential. The filter is tightly connected to the instrumentation amplifier structure for single stage high gain and high pass filtering, saving space and cost.
The AD8232 uses an unrestricted op amp to create a three-pole low-pass filter that eliminates extra noise. Users can meet the needs of different application types by selecting the cutoff frequency of all filters.
To improve common mode rejection of system line frequency and other unwanted interference, the AD8232 includes an amplifier for driver oriented applications such as right hand drive (RLD).
The AD8232 includes a fast recovery feature that reduces build-up of the high pass filter for a long time. If the amplifier rail voltage is suddenly cut off (eg an output state), the AD8232 will automatically adjust to a higher filter cut state. This feature enables the AD8232 to achieve fast recovery; Thus, a valid measurement can be obtained as quickly as possible after lead has been connected to the electrode of the measurement object.
